With the fast moving COVID-19 situation at the forefront of people’s minds, we wanted to keep you up to date with the steps we’re taking at Elglaze to mitigate risks in our offices and showroom and when out at customers homes.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on the evening of Monday 23rd March 2020, we will be closing our showroom and offices for the next three weeks and obviously this timeframe will be reviewed and updated in-line with government advice, as it is issued.
We have put in place measures for our team to continue working from home during this time. This means our team are still available to take calls, answer emails, provide quotes and arrange installations.
Currently, our installation team can still complete installations if agreed with with the customer, and of course our teams are all equipped with hand sanitiser and the means to sanitise areas before beginning and after completing work. They are also diligently practising social distancing between themselves and customers.
As of today we are still able to source all of our products for installations, so if you have an installation coming up or in mind, as it stands there are no delays on required materials. This is of course an uncertain time and if this should change, we will update you here and for any existing customers, via phone and email.
While we cannot invite you into our showroom at this time, we are equipped with Video Chat via the website, so if you wish to speak to our team face to face, why not visit our Video Chat page where you can start talking to the team straight away. Our staff are on hand to help as always and are well equipped to work remotely and to continue to provide you with the service you need day to day.
Health and Safety at Elglaze
Our employees are very important members of the Elglaze family. Here are the extra precautions we are taking to protect the team daily.
We have put in place daily temperature monitoring for all staff (with their consent) and hand sanitiser has been provided throughout the offices and showroom. A rigorous cleaning regime has also implemented including regular sanitisation of door handles and surfaces throughout the day.
We are doing our best to keep our team and customers safe and adhering to government guidelines as they are issued.
Workplace wellbeing is paramount. If any of our team feels under the weather, we will fully support them. If self isolation is deemed necessary, we have in place measures to help them to work remotely.
Supply and Demand
Did you know that our windows and doors are all manufactured here in the UK? This helps us keep a close eye on supply and gives us tight control over our stock levels. This means we can be completely transparent with expected delivery times for your project. No ambiguity.
We also source all of our window furniture – handles, keeps etc – from UK manufacturers meaning supply is readily available and consistent.
Installations are continuing as normal for now. Our install teams are being temperature tested (with consent) every day and as long as our customers are happy for an install to continue, we will be there to do the work. Should any of our team need to self-isolate and if this causes problems with or delays to any installations, we will let you know as soon as we can.
Most of our fitting is done on the outside of the property, so contact with the inside of your home by our installation team is minimal. All of our installation teams are temperature tested daily (with their consent) and all vans have been equipped with hand sanitiser. Upon completion of the working day, and at the end of an install, our team are sanitising all surfaces they come into contact with.
What to do if you need to be in isolation and you have an installation coming up
If you are self-isolating and cannot go ahead with a scheduled install, please just let us know. You can contact us on 01487 842643 during office hours, or send an email via our contact form any time. We will postpone until you are ready to proceed. We’ll also make sure you have priority on your preferred install date.
Innovative ways to keep in touch
We love meeting our customers face to face. It helps us to better understand an individuals requirements, lets us make good recommendations suitable for the clients home and allows for a more personable experience. This approach has helped us retain long lasting relationships with our customers.
With the uncertainty of the situation and official advice changing daily, we understand the concerns our customers may have when it comes to inviting a sales person into their home, or indeed visiting our showroom.
Although we are taking a range of measures to maintain a safe environment, we want to make sure we can continue to offer a service for those taking social distancing measures.
