Emma and her family have been living in their beautiful house in Buckden for 8 years. Dating back to the 1900s, it’s had many alterations and improvements, including no less than five different extensions. As the extensions have gone up, so have unmatching windows and glazing, and over time, the windows and doors have aged too. Emma tells us:

“When it rained you could see a river running under the back door and as you went up the stairs in the winter you’d feel a strong draught coming from the window. We also had a window that was completely shot and you could see condensation forming inside.”

So the decision was made to have replacement windows and a door at the back of the house. Emma says they chose Elglaze because her trusted builder Martin Jay, who’d used them to replace windows in his own home, had recommended them. Emma says:

“We trust Martin implicitly, so Elglaze was appointed to install the new door and windows and we weren’t disappointed. Wayne, one of the Elglaze representatives, came out to the house and gave us really sound advice about which windows to have. He understood exactly what we wanted and didn’t try to sell us anything we didn’t need. He was really friendly and very knowledgeable.”

When it was time for the installation, Emma says it was a simple process and the team ‘just got on with it’ finishing everything in one day. She was also impressed by the way the installation team had left everything so clean and tidy. Emma concludes:

“I’m really pleased that my arch window now matches the others and it’s a relief that the house is watertight and draught free. I’m sure it will have a positive impact on our heating bill too. I found Elglaze overall to be friendly and easy to deal with and I would definitely recommend them.”
