Give your conservatory a facelift this spring

Is your conservatory beginning to feel a little outdated? Thankfully, there are a few ways to put some life back into your conservatory, and we discuss them briefly here. With spring upon us, there has never been a better time to begin upgrading your conservatory.
Were going to discuss changing your doors, updating your roof, giving your lighting and upgrade, and the potential roof light installation. Some of these ideas are easier than others to carry out, but you’ll be surprised to see even the smallest of upgrades can give your conservatory a new lease of life.
Doors
Changing conservatory doors will give an immediate sense of improvement. Upgrading to french doors or using bifold doors is the quickest way. Bifolds are a modern alternative to a traditional conservatory door and will help add a contemporary look to your home.
The space-saving functionality of bi-fold doors is why this style is popular amongst our customers. They are designed to fold back on themselves. For this reason, they don’t take up as much room as a traditional hinged door would.
Roof upgrade
A common issue with older conservatories is the thermoregulation properties. Because of poor insulation, older conservatories will either be too hot in summer or cold in the winter.
An upgrade to your roof will help regulate these temperature fluctuations. Turning a polycarbonate roof into a tiled roof will be the best route for this. It’s also a relatively simple process and will improve thermal efficiency significantly.
Improve your lighting
Lighting improvements are probably the easiest and most cost-effective way to make your old conservatory feel more contemporary.
There is an entire suite of lights that can be used for this. For example, a pendant light or a series of pendant lights can be used as a centrepiece in the roof. You can achieve a more modern aesthetic by using a dimmer switch to create great ambient lighting.
Using spotlights along a beam can give a nice ambient glow to your room – using a dimmer switch can help achieve this. Too put emphasis on a particular area of the room. You can direct the spotlights where you wish.
Install a roof light
Roof lights bring a lot of natural light into a conservatory. There are many different styles to choose from such as square, pyramid, octagonal, or a traditional double hipped roof lantern.
