Why replace old windows?
Steve Martin, Elglaze director and glazing expert, highlights the many benefits of replacing old windows.
Elglaze offer an A rated uPVC energy efficient window system – one of the highest standards on the market today.
Reduce energy bills and your carbon footprint
So why replace old windows? Well, there are so many reasons, but maybe the most obvious is that well-fitted, energy efficient windows will keep the heat in your home, so you can rest assured that even on the coldest nights you’ll be warm and cosy inside without any chilly draughts. As a consequence you’ll use less energy to heat your home, reducing your energy bills and lowering your carbon footprint – saving money and helping to save the planet at the same time.
Get rid of damp
Old windows are often the cause of condensation and horrible damp issues that can cause damage to the surrounding building. Damp and condensation can also be the reason for mould problems which in turn can lead to health issues for the homeowners. New windows can help solve all these problems and should have as standard trickle ventilation systems, which allow fresh, oxygenated air to literally trickle into your house and stale, carbon dioxide rich air to trickle out, giving you a balanced and healthy environment to live in. Good ventilation will also prevent the build-up of odours, bacteria and dust.
Keep intruders and noise out
Energy efficient glazing fitted with new secure locks are of course more effective in keeping unwanted intruders out of your home – double-glazed windows are much more robust than older, single-glazed windows. But they don’t just keep out burglars, they’re effective in keeping out unwanted noise too, helping to create that calm and peaceful haven for you to relax in.
Beautiful windows make a beautiful home
But if all that’s not enough, just think how amazing your home will look with expertly installed, brand new, sparkly windows. Beautiful!
